Position Summary
The Conference & Events Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of supply chain educational products and content relevant to the success of company's three supply chain conferences, strategic corporate objectives, and various transportation workshops and webinars identified under the umbrella of The Academy'. Academy offerings are comprised of traditional and on-demand products.
Essential Job Functions
Content Development
Responsible for content development, production and delivery solutions for both conferences and Academy offerings.
Provide support with conference app population and deployment
Engage in social media applications.
Provide backup support with online registration via RegOnline.
Assist with logistics coordination.
Provides open lines of communication as a liaison with the company marketing department to convey plans, needs, and updates while also assuring IES is meeting critical deadlines.
Responsible for the production and printing of Academy support material.
Communicates with vendors to obtain signage/graphics creative services, design, production, and installation where necessary.
Must operate in a budget conscious environment and identifies cost reductions.
Provides assistance with stage design as well as communication with audio/visual vendor.
Establish and grow relations with strategic associations & universities.
Other duties as assigned
Education Development
Identify and translate market educational needs into learning experiences using various learning solutions and technologies for traditional and on-demand learning.
Evaluate variances in learning styles within an audience.
Develop and coordinate learning material relevant to The Academy.
Repurpose live content in a virtual environment.
Identify CEU accreditation opportunities for Academy offerings.
Other duties as assigned
Major Accountabilities and Requirements
Maintain up-to-date understanding of supply chain and transportation industry trends, learning needs, and influences impacting the community of shippers, carriers, logistic service providers and technology providers.
Provide an exceptional learning and training outcome for each event and participant.
Update existing content and develop new content for company's Academy.
Monitor effective networking exercise trends to contribute to the customer experience.
Working within a team environment to identify new ways to reduce and streamline event spending.
Qualifications/Education/Skills
Bachelor's Degree in B2B Marketing, Communications or Event Planning.
Three-plus years of experience in events development and/or logistics.
Experience in supply chain or transportation related field is preferred.
Experience with using a structured approach to development is a plus.
Experience with WebEx, KnowledgeVision, or Blackboard a plus.
RegOnline and DoubleDutch experience a plus.
Social Media savvy.
Demonstrated ability to manage individual work and project management know-how in a team environment is essential.
Proven ability to write and compose business communications and communicate publicly in a business situation required.
Understanding of a Mac environment a plus.
Proven experience with best practice research and analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft products with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.
Must be able to accommodate limited travel (3-5 times a year).
