Instructional Systems Specialist (Educational Technology)

Basic Requirements for Instructional Systems Specialist (Educational Technology):
Education:
Master's degree (or higher degree) in the field of Education. Educational course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. Undergraduate/graduate education must included course work in at least three of the five following areas:
(1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology:
Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. (2) Instructional design practices:
Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. (3) Educational evaluation:
Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. (4) Instructional product development:
Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. (5) Computers in education and training:
Study of the application of computers in education and training. Professional Certification/License Requirement:
Must be DoDEA certified/certifiable in any PreK-12 endorsement area. AND Meet the Education and Experience Requirements in Either Pathway A or Pathway B:
Pathway A:
Either be certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards for Educational Technologist by possessing the following education:
A major in Instructional Technology ora minimum of 18 semester hours (SH) of instructional technology-related course work. The 18 SH are divided into two general categories - instructional courses and technology courses. Instructional courses must be distributed in at least three courses (9 SH) of the following instructional areas:
Instructional design, Distance education, Integration of technology into curriculum, Planning for technology, Assessment of technology, Technology and special needs, Staff development. Technology courses must be distributed in at least three (9 SH) of the following technology areas:
Web and/or graphics design, Contemporary programming languages, Multimedia, Digital video, Internet in classroom, Databases, Local and/or wide area networks in instructional settings. AND Specialized
Experience:
5 years of specialized experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PK-12th grade education and training. A minimum of 3 years of specialized experience as an Educational Technologist at the school level is required. Pathway B:
Education:
Must possess at least 9 semester hours of undergraduate/graduate level instructional/technology course work such as:
Instructional design, Distance education, Planning for technology, Technology and special needs, Staff development, Web and/or graphics design, Contemporary programming languages, Databases, Local and /or wide area networks in instructional settings. AND Specialized
Experience:
5 years of specialized experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PK-12th grade education and training. A minimum of 3 years of specialized experience as an Educational Technologist at the district or above school level is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
