Air Traffic Control Specialist

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
1) performing required research to identify, analyze, and resolve operational automation discrepancies, 2) ensuring the adequacy of automation support based on an in-depth knowledge of air traffic control procedures an in-depth knowledge of facility traffic flows, 3) developing, maintaining, testing, and modifying the adaptation database to assure that Air Traffic operational requirements are met and data is processed in a precise and timely manner, 4) coordinating with staff at local and other facilities regarding automation decisions and activities that affect operations.You will participate on special project teams to evaluate the effectiveness of automation services. You will perform technical analysis, documentation, and related tasks in direct support of the air traffic operations. As a Controller you will provide on-site assistance to the Air Traffic Manager and operational personnel offering technical assistance, guidance and recommendations covering a broad range of field support requirements such as problem identification, evaluation and resolution of system malfunctions. You will design and monitor the execution of test plans and implementation plans.You will coordinate with Technical Operations, Air Traffic Representatives, Program Office, and Terminal Second Level Engineering to manage software and adaptation requirements and to support second level activities. To qualify for this position at the J payband you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I or FG/GS 13 in the Federal Service. Applicants must possess experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that demonstrated possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the level of work of the specialization for which application is made. This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules and regulations. Creditable experience must have equipped applicants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full range of duties of the position for which application is being made.Specialized experience may include but is not limited to:
Experience working with various computer systems and software analysis programs in support of the National Airspace System. This would include performing system adaptation (building, testing, and analysis of those systems) and the implementation of system modifications, corrections and enhancements.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
